Since 2006, the SparKy team has worked tirelessly to keep our rescue strong, compassionate, and growing. While public donations help meet our financial needs, volunteers are truly the heartbeat of our day‑to‑day operations. With the opening of our brick‑and‑mortar Rescue Center, our mission has expanded—and so have the opportunities for caring community members to get involved.
Volunteering with SparKy is a meaningful way to give back, support vulnerable animals, and experience the unconditional love that only a rescued pet can offer.
Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome volunteers in a variety of roles, including:
- Animal Transport: Driving pets to and from vet appointments, foster homes, and partner locations
- Office & Housekeeping Support
- Dog Kennels: Feeding, cleaning, and daily care
- Cat Room: Feeding, cleaning, and enrichment
- Dog Walking & Playtime: Exercise, socialization, and enrichment activities
- Dog Bathing & Grooming
- PetSmart Cat Care: Cleaning cages and caring for adoptable cats
- Fundraising Support: Event planning, promotion, preparation
- Event Volunteers: Helping at adoption events, fundraisers, and community outreach activities
