FAQs
Do you ever euthanize animals for aggression or medical reasons?
Euthanasia at our rescue is very rare and used only when it is the most humane option. We may consider euthanasia in two situations:
Severe Medical Suffering:
A licensed veterinarian may recommend euthanasia when an animal has a serious, untreatable condition that causes significant pain or cannot be managed humanely.
Dangerous, Unmanageable Aggression:
If an animal displays severe, unpredictable aggression that poses a safety risk—and behavior experts determine the behavior cannot be rehabilitated—we may consider euthanasia only as a last resort.
What do the adoption fees cover?
Our adoption fees help cover the essential veterinary care every pet receives before joining their new family. This includes:
• Spay or neuter surgery
• Vaccinations
• Microchipping
In some cases, pets may require further medical attention, including dental procedures, tumor removal, bone fracture casting, heartworm prevention, and other essential treatments necessary for their well-being.
Because adoption fees rarely cover the full cost of care, we rely on community support and fundraising to help bridge the gap and ensure each animal receives everything they need to thrive.
Do you take strays?
We are not an animal control facility, so we cannot legally take in stray animals directly. Stray pets must first go through the appropriate local shelter or animal control agency so their owner has a chance to find them.
However, once a stray has completed the required hold period and is legally released, we may be able to bring the animal into our rescue depending on space, resources, and medical needs.
If you’ve found a stray, we recommend contacting your local animal control or shelter so the pet can be properly documented and given the best chance to be reunited with its family.
What kind of donations do you accept?
