Ned is the WBKR Pet of the week!

Tune in tomorrow to WBKR 92.5 at 8:20am to hear more about this sweet boy!

Meet Ned

Ned is an adult golden retriever, great pyr mix. He was heartworm positive when we got him and he has just completed his treatment. He came from a nearby kill shelter. Ned loves people. He likes to be around people but mostly, he likes to lean on people. Literally lean. Ned is a fairly smart guy. He can open doors and let himself out to potty. He also enjoys riding around in a motorcycle side car and riding around in the gator at the detention center. Ned is not crazy about all other dogs. He tolerates some better than others and does okay as long as he is recognized as the alpha. Ned loves to stick his head out of a sunroof on a car when he goes for car rides. Ned is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. Ned needs a home where he can be in the house because he longs to be near people. If you are interested in Ned, please go to www.sparkyrescue.com/adopting and fill out our pre application.

Korkie is the WBKR Pet of the week!

Tune in tomorrow to WBKR 92.5 at 8:20am to hear more about this sweet lady!

Korkie is around 6-7 years old female pug. Korkie was a former puppy mill dog. She came to us along with Nugget, both dogs didn't have the best life before coming to SparKY.  Korkie has been spayed and has had a dental. Due to the condition of her teeth she had to have all of them pulled, this leaves Korkie with her cute pink tongue hanging out of her mouth all the time.  Korkie is a little on the shy side at first but she warms up quickly and is learning the joys of living in a house with a soft clean bed and human family. She eats soft food preferably canned food but will eat dry if the pieces are small. Korkie is attached to her companion that was with her at the puppy mill, her foster family would love to see them go to the same home if all possible. Korkie is going to be enrolling in the Green River Correctional D.R.D. training program for 12 weeks of obedience training. She will learn housebreaking, sit, etc. and even a trick. Korkie is spayed up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.

Nugget is the WBKR Pet of the week!

Tune in tomorrow to WBKR 92.5 at 8:20am to hear more about this sweet lady!

Meet Nugget

My name is Nugget. I am 6 years old. I have not had a wonderful life up until now, I was a puppy mill dog and spent my life having litter after litter. Now that I’m old and no longer able to produce I was discarded. The vet said my teeth are in really bad shape but she can’t do anything about it yet because I’m heartworm positive. The vet said that’s why I cough so much and get sick to my tummy sometimes because I have worms in my heart. I’m thankful for SparKy Rescue saving me from an uncertain future because I know I will get medical treatment for my health issues plus I don’t have to sleep in a dirty cage anymore! I have a nice clean soft bed, clean water, and plenty of food. Please consider donating to my care so SparKY can save other dogs like me. Nugget is not currently available for adoption. If you would like to foster Nugget or would be interested in adopting Nugget in the future, please go to www.sparkyrescue.com/adopting and fill out our pre application.

Nelson is the WBKR Pet of the week!

Tune in tomorrow to WBKR 92.5 at 8:20am to hear more about this guy!

Nelson is an 11 week old lab/dachshund/jack Russell mix.  Nelson had a birth defect and his private area was not where it was supposed to be.  After determining all the plumbing was there, he had reconstructive surgery at Towne Square Animal Hospital to put it back in the correct place.  Surgery has been quite expensive.  Nelson is not ready for adoption yet but will be soon.

Frankie is the WBKR Pet of the week!

Tune in tomorrow to WBKR 92.5 at 8:20am to hear more about this guy!

Frankie is about 14 weeks old. He came to us from a nearby shelter whose vet told them to euthanize him. They reached out to us. Frankie came and TSAH splinted his leg and stitched a laceration on his stomach. He is on crate confinement now. He is a lab mix and is not ready for adoption yet. These are the kinds of animals we take in order to save their lives.
