Bark at the Park

We had a warm but great time at Bark at the Park today. We received several bags of dog food that was donated by the pet owners and Owensboro Parks and Recreation. Here are some shots of the action.

Come on out and bring your pet to the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Bark in the Park tomorrow from 1p.m. to 3p.m.

Admission: A small bag of dog food

Some of the planned activities are:

* Pup Parade

* Best Dressed Contest

* Best Trick

* Owner/Pet Look Alike Contest

* PetSmart Professionals Onsite

* Free Samples and Treats Available

All animals must be kept on a leash during the event.

The honor society sponsored a lemonade stand at the car show this past weekend. Their children worked the stand and helped raise money. All proceeds were donated to SparKy! Thank you ladies for your hard work and for supporting us. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Here are some emails we received from Comet and Bobby's new owners!

“We adopted Comet yesterday and already love him to pieces.  It’s as if he has always been with us.  I must have one of the happiest 11 year olds in the world, I think.  Comet is adjusting well – he is such a nice and gentle dog as well as smart and well-behaved.  He is a wonderful addition to our family and we are looking forward to many happy times.  I know I sound a bit sappy but….he really is lovely.  Thanks again!”  Peggy  (Received on May 11, 2009)

“I wanted to let you know that we adopted Bobby (now known as Hobbes) this past weekend.  He is such a sweet, gentle boy!  We are getting a lot of puppy kisses.  My 4 year old daughter thinks his kisses are hilarious.  ……..he is doing great!  He loves walks.  We haven’t made it to the dog park yet but from the way he eagerly greets every dog he sees, I’m sure he’ll love it!  Thanks for all you do for the animals.”  Laura  (Received on May 7, 2009)
