Update on Sheena!!

Hi, Bridget!  How are you?

Just wanted to give you an update on Sheena. :-) I'm sure you'll be glad to know she is spoiled rotten!  Still in the house, living it up on the couch most of the time!!!  We're still working on the house breaking, but I think it will come with time...  She loves to play and the boys keep her pretty entertained!  We're hoping once she gets out of that chewing/puppy stage, we will be able to leave her out at night (so she can sleep in the bed with us, of course)!!

Thanks for everything!!!  She's a great girl!!!

Michelle...

Update on Sadie

Report from Sadie's new dad.  "She (Sadie) is on my hip at all times, she's already my sweet heart!  Dallas is jealous......."

Sounds like Sadie has made herself right at home!  We are so happy for Sadie and for Sadie's new family.  They are so lucky!

Thanks-A-Million!

Thanks to all who volunteered and everyone who came out to support us on Saturday at Books-A-Million. It was a successful day and we'll know exactly how much we made soon. Thanks to Books-A-Million for allowing us to come out.

Also, check out our new cats at PetSmart. We have two beautiful black and white kittens there and a gorgeous cream/tan kitten with stunning blue eyes.

Return of Glory.

We got a dog back this weekend that was adopted in February.  I know that times are difficult right now, but people need to realize that when they adopt an animal, they are making a committment for the lifetime of that pet.  Poor Glory has been disrupted and does not understand why. Despite this, Glory still has an outstanding personality and a winning smile.  He is now available for adoption.

We support the proposed county ordinance.

SparKy believes that our cause is preventable.  Our mission is to educate the public and reduce the amount of animals that are killed each year due to overpopulation.   In todays Messenger Inquirer, there is an article about a new ordinance to make every non-profit organization spay or neuter an animal before it can be adopted out to the new owner.   We want everyone to know that this is how SparKy has always operated.  We believe that other organizations should get on board to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year.  Together we can get things done and make changes for the better in our community.  You have our vote Owensboro!

THANK YOU

A huge thank you to everyone that came out on Saturday and had a picture taken. Thank you to all the sponsors that donated items for the drawings. But especially thanks to Kenny and Debra from Dream Copy Photography for their time and expertise. It literally would not have happened without them. They have been a blessing to SparKy and our mission. We appreciate all of the time and energy they donate to our animals. Thanks again for a successful day.

Phillip went home with a great family on Saturday. He will be the only cat and will be inside. Congratulations to Phillip’s new family for their excellent choice of feline companions.
